Substance Abuse

This course introduces participants to a range of current issues regarding the relationship between substance abuse and mental health. The psychosocial impact of a range of substances including alcohol, heroin and crack cocaine will be explored.

Course Content

  • Defining dual diagnosis
  • Alcohol abuse
  • Illicit drug use (heroin, crack cocaine, amphetamines, cannabis)
  • Substance abuse and mental health

  • You will be able to analyse the relationship between mental health and a range of psychoactive substances
